Print Your Own Prayers & Squares Labels

There are a couple of ways you can print your own Prayers & Squares fabaric labels using your ink jet printer and our templates. Information about each option is listed below.

Option 1 : Purchase pre-treated fabric sheets such as Printed Treasures or EQ Printables. In these products, treated fabric is adhered to a liner sheet so it will feed through your printer. The sheets are ready to load into an ink jet printer and print from your computer. Very easy to use, but relatively costly. BEWARE of using other products that have the word "transfer" on them. A transfer is a two-step process in which you first print in reverse onto a carrier sheet, then you iron the sheet onto your fabric. This does NOT work well with our labels! We highly recommend using Printed Treasures or EQ Printables instead. (Get more information about buying Printed Treasures and EQ Printables .)

Option 2 : A less expensive alternative is to treat your own fabric with a liquid solution called Bubble Jet Set. This will make the ink from your ink jet printer permanent on the fabric. First you soak the fabric in the solution, then when dry you iron it onto freezer paper and cut to size. The freezer paper allows the fabric to feed through your ink jet printer. This takes a lot more work, but saves you money. (Get more information about buying and using Bubble Jet Set .)

NOTE: It is possible to print on untreated fabric, and the labels might look great when they come out of your ink jet. But chances are the image will NOT be permanent! The printing will disappear when the fabric label is washed. You must use treated fabric sheets, either the pre-treated ones or ones you treat yourself.

Templates for Printing Prayers & Squares Labels To customize your labels: open the template file in Microsoft Word and enter your chapter's information, (and if you wish, the quilt recipient's name and the date) into the areas specified with blue type. Change the type color from blue to black, then print on pre-treated fabric sheets. Download Microsoft Word template file.
